Makna Creative – Farkhan Evendi has been re-elected as the Chairman of Bintang Muda Indonesia (BMI), the youth wing of the Democratic Party, during BMI’s first National Congress (Munas) held in Jakarta on Saturday, July 12, 2025. In addition to electing new leadership for the 2025–2029 term, the inaugural congress also served as a platform for strengthening the youth base in preparation for the Democratic Party’s success in the 2029 general elections.
Several prominent members were considered during the selection process, including Edi Kamal (Chairman of BMI Aceh/Member of the Aceh Regional Parliament), Taufik Arahman (BMI Treasurer/Member of the Banten Regional Parliament), Muhammad Zulfikar Suhardi (Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives), Herzaky Mahendra Putra (Head of the Democratic Party’s Strategic Communication Board), R. Aditiya Utama (BMI Secretary General), and Mohamad Ghiffari Adha (Secretary of BMI Jakarta’s Regional Leadership Council).
The democratic nature of the election marked a significant moment in reinforcing the role of youth in national politics. Farkhan’s unanimous election reflects the full confidence of the organization’s members in his vision and leadership.
Speaking to the media, Farkhan Evendi emphasized that BMI must be a youth movement that contributes meaningfully to society, especially for the younger generation. “We must uphold the spirit of togetherness and continue to innovate,” he stated. He also called on all BMI members to uphold the values of Pancasila and to actively champion the interests of the people through real, impactful action.
Farkhan reiterated that under his leadership, BMI will prioritize strengthening its organizational structure and developing strategic programs aligned with the vision of the Democratic Party. He also expressed his hope that BMI would expand its role in national politics, particularly by encouraging greater youth participation across various development sectors.
